Frequently Asked Questions
What is a One-Piece versus Two Piece Needle?
A one-piece needle is made from one single piece of metal wire that is tapered via a micro-machining tool to create the shaft (portion that goes into the hair follicle.) As the needle is all one piece, the electrical current passes smoothly along the needle.
A two-piece needle is made from two parts, a hollow piece of thicker wire and a thin wire. They are connected at the crimp point by placing the thin wire inside the hollow thicker wire and then crimping (i.e. crushing) the outer wire onto the inner wire. Due to the inconsistent connection of the outer tube to the inner wire, the electrical current can be inconsistent.
What are the differences between the Galvanic, Thermolysis and Blend methods of Electrolysis?
Galvanic electrolysis uses direct current (DC), Thermolysis uses alternating current (AC) and Blend uses both. For more information, check out our article on this very topic!
